Visual Speech

Artworks of Mario Loprete

Mario Loprete (1968), graduated at Accademia of Belle Arti, Catanzaro, is a well-known Italian artist. His artworks have been exhibited in several art-galleries and his interviews and discussions have been published in several national and international magazines and newspapers. He believes, Painting for me is the first love. I live in a world that I shape at my liking, through visual speech made of concrete, to transmit my experiences refined from years of research and experimentation. This is the new series of my works on concrete, which is giving me more personal and professional satisfactions. How was it born? It was the result of an important investigation of my work, the research of that “quid” that I felt was missing. Looking at my work in the past ten years I understood that there was the semantics and semiotics in my visual speech, but the right support to valorize the message was not there. For my concrete sculptures, I use my personal clothing. I transform plaster, resin and cement in artworks through some artistical process. He resides at Via Magenta 31, 88100 Catanzaro and can also be contacted through email- mario.loprete@libero.it.
